Michael Lawal is the host of the podcast"Raw Conversations," a serial entrepreneur and Investor who advises organizations on tapping into the African Market, building products that are culturally fit for local consumers, and becoming an emerging market giant.

The African continent is a vast and diverse market that offers numerous opportunities for businesses and organizations to grow and expand. However, understanding the local culture, regulations, and market conditions are crucial for success in Africa. That is why organizations that aim to scale into Africa often seek assistance from experts who deeply understand the continent.

I help organizations understand the African market by providing in-depth analysis and insights into each country's various cultural, regulatory, and economic conditions. This allows organizations to make informed decisions about their expansion strategy and avoid potential pitfalls that may arise from a lack of understanding of the local environment.

One of the critical challenges faced by organizations looking to scale into Africa is navigating the complex regulatory and political landscape. Different countries have different laws and regulations that govern business operations, and failing to comply with these regulations can lead to significant consequences for organizations. I help organizations to understand and comply with these regulations, de-risking the organization's business or product launch and ensuring a smooth entry into the African market.

In addition to providing insights and assistance with regulatory compliance, I also help organizations to understand the local consumer market. This includes analyzing consumer behavior, market trends, and competition, which helps organizations develop a tailored strategy that meets the local market's needs.

WHY AFRICA

"Sub-Saharan Africa’s population is growing at 2.7% a year, which is more than twice as fast as South Asia (1.2%) and Latin America (0.9%). That means Africa is adding the population of France (or Thailand) every two years. Although Asia’s population is four times bigger, almost two children are born each year in Africa for every three in Asia. Most experts agree that if it continues at its current growth rate, like Nigeria, Africa’s population will double by 2050. That would be 2.5bn people, meaning more than a quarter of the world’s people would be in Africa."- The Economist
